THRIFTING: 3 years and 600 miles

Three years ago, my mom and I went to Marietta, Georgia to visit my uncle (her brother) and I also was able to spend some time with my best friend, Julie, who lives in nearby Roswell. My mom and I drove her minivan, which she let me borrow while I stayed with Julie. Then Julie and I hit all the thrift stores in the Atlanta, Georgia suburbs.

Y’all.

Thrifting in the Atlanta suburbs is OFF THE HOOK. Literally the BEST thrifted home good haul I ever ended up with:

  • My 9’ faux bamboo tree (for $9!!!!!!)

  • A super unique wicker cat bed that my cats never got in, not even once, but it’s still super cute and 70s looking

  • Several super cool, vintage framed art prints

  • A bunch of little unique tchotchkes

  • This amazing 1980s cream colored with a gold stripe, bathroom trashcan and tissue box holder set

There might be more that I’m forgetting, but just trust me: it was a LOT. Here’s what the back of the van looked like when I went to pick up my mom to leave for home:

Like, two of those bags are luggage.

ANYWAY.

The cream-colored-with-a gold-stripe bathroom set was unearthed from the back of the van and unwrapped:

(The tissue box is inside of the trashcan.)

I’ve been using both the tissue box and trashcan since then, and I’ve never thought much about it except that I love this set and am so glad I found it.

Then I’m wandering around a thrift store here in Richmond the other day — three years later — and what do I find?

Which clearly goes with the set:

I was floored!

So, now, of course, I’m obsessed with finding out everything I can about it. Where did it come from? What’s the brand? What year was it was created? Are there more pieces? I MUST KNOW!
